Choirs
Choirs take many forms from barbershop quartets and chamber choirs, school, church and cathedral choirs, right up to large choral societies and oratorio’s. Over the years we have recorded choirs of all sizes in a wide variety of locations from small chapels through to some of the largest concert venues in the UK.
Once again a multi-mic technique is of paramount importance, as we need to give equal attention to the accompaniment as to the choir itself. Quite simply in such situations putting up a single microphone, however good that one microphone may be, just isn’t good enough. We have always followed the principle of micing up each element of a musical group separately, because this will enable us to create the most balanced sound in post production.
We record choirs throughout the UK and have a number of solutions for choirs who want to make a recording but have a limited budget. In fact the majority of choirs who record with us will usually make a profit out of doing so which means a recording for a school or church can be an excellent means of raising money.
