PRIOR PARK COLLEGE RECORDS XMAS SINGLE
Prior Park College announces that its Junior Chapel Choir is recording a Christmas single, endorsed by Midge Ure, with all proceeds going to the charity Help for Heroes.
‘Christmas in My Heart’ has been written by College parent Tessa Cox, who wanted to raise money specifically for Help for Heroes after being inspired by the bravery of our servicemen and women.
4 Part Music recorded the single on Monday 18 October in Prior Park College’s Julian Slade Theatre. It will be available to download on 27th October from iTunes as well as Midge Ure’s music website Tunited.
The song tells the story of a child whose one wish is for their father to come home for Christmas; however he is away fighting at war. Tessa invited the College’s Junior Chapel Choir to record the single after attending one of their concerts, as their youthful energy and fresh sound created the natural innocence she wanted to achieve.
Midge Ure comments:
“Tunited is happy to host and sell all independent music and Help for Heroes is something we are especially happy to be associated with. It’s a great effort for a great cause.”
Prior Park College Headmaster, James Murphy-O’Connor, comments:
“I am extremely proud of our young singers who are helping to raise money for this worthy cause. To make it into the charts would be a monumental achievement for us as a school and would also help raise even more awareness for Help for Heroes. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for the number one slot!”
Tessa Cox comments:
“I have always found the courage of our servicemen and women very moving. Each day, a serviceman is injured in the War in Afghanistan which will change their lives forever. Help for Heroes raises the money to rehabilitate these men and women and help look after their families. These people are an inspiration to us all and we are proud to be supporting them.”
