Live Concerts
Live concerts are often extremely challenging for recording companies because in addition to the usual challenges involved in correctly capturing both the music and the acoustic, a live concert brings in a whole new dimension – other people!
To overcome many of these challenges we have designed a great deal of equipment that has been handmade to our specifications. This enables us to place microphones in the optimum location to capture a sound that brings together the atmosphere of the live concert whilst maintaining the properly balanced sound which today’s audiences expect.
Prior to undertaking a recording we will always survey the venue if it is somewhere we have not been previously. As with all our recordings we take great care to ensure all cables are suitably taped down and covered with mats or ramps as appropriate to ensure the recording space is a safe environment.
Dealing with venues
We do not believe that one setup fits all. The whole point of a location recording is to capture the venue as well as the choir. Where this isnt possible or the venue doesnt have a suitable accoustic we can often treat the recording space and then add accoustic in post production.
All our live recording packages include:
- 1 Sound Engineer and 1 Music Producer
- Minimum 16 channel location recording rig
- All recordings captured at 96Khz/24bit
- Talk back with video between conductor and production desk
- Unlimited editing and mastering time in our Post Production Studios
- 1 Audio Master CD created to Red Book standard
