Would you like to earn £3000 by making a recording?
At 4 Part Music we like to help all musicians we work with and to do this we have devised a recording “package” which means musicians, schools, colleges and even individuals can earn money from their recording.
How does this work?
Let us assume a school choir wanted to make a recording. Firstly we would arrive on site and set up our recording rig in a suitable room (typically a school hall). We would then record for approximately 4 hours usually in 2 separate sessions (longer if needed, we do not watch the clock!). Our sound engineers will then edit the sessions and create a disc for approval with typically 45 minutes of music on it.
Following approval we will then design artwork and produce a master CD. From this we manufacture 500 CD’s in jewel cases with printed inlays.
Total cost from £4 per disc
How much profit will I make?
On the basis that the school then sells the CD’s for £10 each, (most parents will want at least one copy) once 200 discs are sold the initial outlay has been recovered. This means there are then 300 CDs remaining which can be sold to generate profit. 4 Part Music do not take a cut from these sales so the school could potentially earn £3000 from the recording.
What about copyright?
The only additional costs may be incurred if any of the music is in copyright. Our production team will advise you on this before the recording takes place to ensure any issues surrounding copyright are correctly addressed before the recording is undertaken.
