Yesterday our team travelled to Liverpool (across the Mersey) in order to record on location at Booker Avenue Junior School. This meant quite an early start, leaving our studio in Bath just after 4am. But as always, we arrived on location at 7.30am exactly on time in order to set up our recording gear in the school hall and be ready to record from 845am onwards when the pupils had arrived.
The CD Recording with Booker Avenue was only booked towards the end of April. Lead times for recordings vary. Sometimes schools will contact us 6 months or more in advance to reserve a recording date. Other times it will be an idea which has suddenly cropped up in a meeting with the task of trying to find a recording company to come and record a CD in the next few weeks.
It’s uncertain whether that was the case at Booker Avenue Junior School, but regardless, we were delighted to be given the opportunity to go and record in the school.
This recording was the first time we had recorded a CD on location in Liverpool. The recording itself went very well. The children were all extremely well prepared and we recorded some excellent solos during the course of the day. The CD should be ready to deliver to the school within the next 10 days and we hope that parents and pupils alike enjoy it.
