Last week we were recording on location in Derbyshire at Cotmanhay Junior School. This was a recording with a slight difference. The song had been written by the Head Teacher Simon Robinson and the intention was for it to be a charity single for the school.
The song is entitled Children of the Future and is a positive uplifting song to celebrate achieving arts mark.
Whilst we were recording the audio the school made a video which you can see below:
As the single is being sold online we aren’t producing CDs on this occasion. Instead we simply produced digital files which were sent to the school so they could arrange to sell them online. The Head, Simon Robinson, is a very cool type of headteacher. He clearly has a strong vision for the school and uses video and media to not only promote the school but also engage the pupils.
Looking ahead the notion of supplying digital files is likely to become a new model for us. Whilst we believe there is still scope to supply CD’s into schools because a CD is lasting memento, increasingly today all media is becoming digital.
